LEADERS was established in the belief that academic medicine should be accessible to all students, whatever their stage of training. If you have an interest in research or a future in academic medicine, we are here to help you develop the skills and experience that will allow you to fulfil your potential.

Research opportunities are abound in Leeds, but it is often difficult to know where to look or who to approach. Similarly, the academic pathway is not always easy to navigate. Through our events and our website we aim to provide information that will allow students to pursue their interest, whether this is through matching students with researchers, signposting to relevant opportunities such as summer work, conferences and prizes, or simply raising the profile of the research happening here in Leeds.

LEADERS is a member society of the National Student Association for Medical Research (NSAMR). This is a national collaboration of student-led research societies funded by a Wellcome Trust Grant. Several research societies from UK medical schools are already affiliated with NSAMR, and LEADERS will ensure that Leeds students enjoy the benefits of representation at a national level.

LEADERS are able to put on the events we do thanks to the support of the INSPIRE grant scheme, run by the Academy of

Medical Sciences.

On the 6th of March, LEADERS are hosting a series of workshops on how to make the most out of your own research. The event is FREE and there will be CERTIFICATES given out if you attend. Also there will be FREE PIZZA

The event will be held in room 8.43X, Worlsey building from 6:00-8:00pm.
