Research for dummies event - 18th Feb 2014

First event of 2013/2014 year from PERKS/LEADERS

PERKS stands for Pathology, Enterprise, Research, Knowledge and Sucess. They run events focusing on research in pathology.

Sir James Underwood, author of Underwood's Pathology delivered a talk titled "Pathology: The final frontier"

Summer School 2014

The summer school aims to provide students with at least two weeks exposure to research during the summer break. We ask for a minimum of two weeks from supervisors but have had longer projects in the past. Ultimately we hope to pair keen students with willing supervisors who will develop a good working relationship and continue to undergo research throughout their time at Leeds. Any projects are welcome (Audits, service evaluations, or lab based science projects).

Prize evening

The LEADERS prize evening was held on the 15th Feb 2013 where finalists gave presentations about their work.

The inaugural LEADERS event was held on on Wednesday 9th May 2012 from 6-8pm in Littlewood Hall (Postgraduate Centre, Leeds General Infirmary). The exciting speakers were our very own Dean, Professor David Cottrell, and Professor Trudie Roberts - Director of the Leeds Institute of Medical Education. Also Dr David Owens from LIHS, Dr Dan Stark from LIMM and Dr Angela Carter from Light. The event was a great success and we had plenty of people signing up.
